Proud to be an American Couch Owner

If tomorrow all the things were gone
he’d worked for all his life
And an Iraqi had to bury
his children and his wife
He’d curse his Arab stars
to be livin’ there today
‘Cause his flag is still the wrong one
and his tears won’t make that change

And I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m American
And I wont forget the men who died
as long as they were also American

And I gladly stand up and walk a beer
from the fridge to my tv
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this couch
God bless the USA

Oil from the Iraqis
ship it through Afghanistan
Spilling out of busted pipes
In the Niger Delta land

From China down to Thailand
we make the things we sell
But we don’t give a damn for them
and the world can go to hell

‘Cause I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m American
And I wont forget the men who died
As long as they were also American

And I gladly stand up and walk a beer
from the fridge to my tv
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this couch
God bless the USA
